The Radisson in Downtown Austin
We chose to stay at the Radisson during our Thanksgiving weekend in Austin. The location, on the shore of Lady Bird Lake, factored heavily in the decision since we knew we wanted to do a lot of walking.
The hotel was built in 1965, so it has an older look to it, but the interior is nice and has a relaxed and informal feel.
The restaurant is decorated in a modern style and offers views of Lady Bird Lake. We had a good breakfast there one morning, although I was a little disappointed that I couldn't find a single whole grain item on the menu. For dinner that evening we each ordered a hamburger, which was a little too salty but otherwise very good. The sweet potato French fries were perfect.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel offers free parking in the attached garage. Overall, I can easily recommend the Radisson.
